The Final Step
Application is completed and applicant is screened by office staff for:
  1. Work History - experience of at least 1 year of continuous acute, sub-acute, or long term care experience within the last two years
  2. Skill level and experience at each level.
  3. Patient care experience.
  4. Interpersonal skills.
  5. Flexibility / Availability.
  6. Current license; CPR / ACLS / PALS, etc. depending on skill level.
  7. Nurse is given Medication test and additional tests according to Specialty Level; they must make a passing grade of 80% to be hired.
  8. Check work references.  At least two positive employment references must be obtained before a hire decision is made. Use a telephone reference check and/or the written reference check.
Applicant may then be hired conditionally based on interview, skill level, test score, and experience. Scheduled for orientation or oriented if has met criteria and possess necessary paperwork
  1. Depending on State Regulations or facility standards for the specific geographic area, the applicant needs to provide statement that he/she has had Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine and Varicella vaccine.
  2. Hepatitis B information needs to be completed and forms signed.
    Orientation is completed and necessary paperwork is completed.
    1. Senior Healthcare standards and Practices job description, 1-9.
    2. W-4, Substance abuse policy; release for information; etc.
  3. Background Check completed / Fingerprint if required by State.
  4. Drug Screening completed.
  5. Employee file completed.
    Employee hired.
  6. Employee assigned based on desired shift, experience, availability, and facility need.
  7. Information on facility given to employee.
  8. Orientation scheduled with facility.
    Employee sent on assignment.
  9. Employee reviewed with facility after first assignment to evaluate performance.
  10. All information received is documented in the employee's file.
